The Admissions Committee serves as a pivotal body within an educational institution, responsible for overseeing the process of admitting prospective students. This committee typically comprises faculty members, administrators, and sometimes student representatives, all of whom collaborate to ensure the selection of qualified individuals who meet the institution’s standards and objectives.
COURSES OFFERED
Achariya College of Engineering Technology offers 6 UG Programs. 50% of the seats are filled by the Government through CENTAC and 50% of the seats are filled by the management.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

B.Tech Courses
Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech. degree course should have passed the H.Sc. (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu, or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for OBC / BCM / MBC / EBC / BT / SC / ST -candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely, Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology (Botany & Zoology).
Age Limit: The upper age limit is 21 years on 1st July of the academic year (Relaxation up to three years for candidates belonging to OBC / BCM / MBC / EBC and BT communities and five years for candidates belonging to SC / ST communities.
B.Tech course (Lateral entry)
The minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the three-year diploma or four-year sandwich diploma course in engineering / technology with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) in aggregate in the subjects covered from 3rd to final semester or a pass in any B.Sc. course from a recognized University as defined by the UGC, with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
AGE LIMIT (LATERAL ENTRY)
For Lateral Entry admission to second year of degree programme, candidates should not have completed 24 years as on 1st July of the academic year under consideration. In the case of SC/ST candidates, the age limit is relaxable by 3 years for both the cases.

Brand Building and Outreach:
The committee actively works to build and promote the institute’s brand identity and reputation. Through strategic marketing initiatives and engagement with various stakeholders, it aims to raise awareness about the institute’s offerings, achievements, and distinctiveness.
Comprehensive Counseling Services:
Providing comprehensive counseling services to prospective students and their parents is a key function of the committee. This involves offering guidance and support throughout the admission process, addressing queries, clarifying doubts, and assisting individuals in making well-informed decisions about their educational journey.
Empowering Decision-Making:
The committee empowers students and parents by offering valuable insights and resources to facilitate effective decision-making. This includes providing information on available programs, career prospects, financial aid options, and other relevant factors that may influence enrollment decisions.
Facilitating Admission Procedures:
Once students are admitted, the committee continues to support them by guiding them through the various administrative procedures necessary for enrollment. This includes assisting with fee payments, issuance of identification documents, hostel accommodations, course registrations, and ensuring compliance with eligibility requirements and academic schedules.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Marketing Material Development: Collaborate with the Human Resources Department (HRD) to design captivating brochures, prospectuses, and handouts aimed at enhancing the institute’s visibility and attracting prospective students.
- Annual Activity Planning: Gather inputs from departments, committees, and faculty members to develop a comprehensive annual plan of activities for publication in the prospectus, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and educational objectives.
- Career Counseling Program: Develop and implement a strategic plan to engage with 12th standard and diploma students, offering career counseling sessions to guide them in making informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
- Advertisement Placement: Coordinate the placement of advertisements in newspapers to promote admissions, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines set by the respective conveners of admissions.
- Student and Parent Interaction: Provide support and guidance to students and interact with parents during the admissions process, addressing inquiries, providing information, and facilitating a smooth transition into the institute.
- Feedback Utilization: Advice the Principal on enhancing facilities and services based on feedback gathered from parents and students during admission counseling sessions, aiming to improve overall student satisfaction and experience.
- Record Management: Maintain organized records of admissions and the annual plan of activities, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Reporting to IQAC Committee: Compile and submit enrollment records to the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Committee, contributing to institutional assessments and continuous improvement efforts.
- Spot Admission and Category-B Admissions: Issue notifications for spot admissions and category-B (management quota) admissions in accordance with guidelines provided by the state government, facilitating fair and transparent admission processes.
- Approval Submission: Prepare and submit the list of admissions to designated authorities for approval, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
