Library Committee
The Library of ACET is located in – with carpet area of 613.12 sq. meters with sufficient area for stacks and reading space. It is fully computerized and furnished, the ambience provided by the facilities and atmosphere, and all the students and staff find it conducive for constructive study. Library orientation has to do with introducing new library users to the library. Orientation is primarily concerned with ways of introducing the user to the general techniques of Library usage and services available, and the organization, layout and facilities of a particular library. The College has the best practice of collecting and maintaining rare books, competitive books or any other knowledge resources for the students and faculty to use as resource materials for enrichment of their knowledge, research and exploring new things. Apart from the standard books, the library maintains some rare books like Knowledge Encyclopedia, Aircraft Performance, along with these, the library is stocked with a collection of books for competitive exams like GATE, GMAT, and UPSC. Together with these, some biographies of the well-known inspirational authors of personality development books

Functions
- To enable students to acquire information, knowledge and skills required for their study programmers’.
- To hold books, journals and other learning materials and technology-aided learning mechanisms.
- To look into the matters relating to library such as inviting indents from faculty members for books, journals, and other learning resources including e-resources.
- To advise, develop and monitor policies for the overall development of the library in terms of collection development, processing, storage and retrieval of information.
- To review and recommend for formulation of relevant policies with a particular attention to the collection, budget and distribution of resources among academic divisions and branches.
- To provide facilities for smooth and effective functioning of library like ventilation, seating, power supply, internet.
- To provide service for effective utilization of library resources like library orientation for freshers, career guidance for senior students

The following are the roles and responsibilities:
- Librarian is the Secretary of the Committee.
- One faculty from each Department and one student from each section considered as Library committee member deputed by the HOD concern Department.
- The function of the Library Committee is to support the functioning of the library so that it can facilitate the library development plans by advocating the library development activities with the management.
- The purpose of the Library Committee is to act as a channel of communication and dialogue between the college Library and its users.
- The Committee’s main objective is to aid in the establishment a bridge between the Library and the academic fraternity and the institute management.
- The Library Committee (LC) is appointed by the principal of the college and is a statutory Committee.
Library committee will support in:
- Implements Library Management System.
- Providing library search facility i.e OPAC to all students and departments with the aid of internet and intranet.
- To enrich the library by procuring leading national/ international journals.
- To display the renewal dates of all journals and get them renewed in time, to constantly
- Library committee will advice and support in establishing departmental libraries
- Budget preparation and allocation of funds for all departments while purchasing books and other reading materials
- Improving collection development.
- Conducting library orientation and information literacy programs for students and faculty members.
- Maintain Book Bank Scheme facility for weaker sections.
- Coordinate with faculty members for putting special focus on toppers and below average students.
- Preparing library annual report.
- weeding out unused and most damaged books.
- Cultivating reading habits among students, faculty and staff members.
- Converting potential users into habitual readers.
- Application of ICT in all areas of library including library automation software.
- Providing library search facility to all departments with the aid of LAN or WAN.
